Grudge Match

This past weekend Neil W, put on the annual Smith Grudge Match at Snow Valley. Officially, we were there with Sessions. Unofficially, we were there for the spring snow and fun sodas. Jennings and the park crew did a total rebuild. If you haven't been to Snow Valley in a few years, I'd suggest you check it out, things have changed. The Grudge Match is a head to head format, with all the Simple kids, Trevor Jennings, Andrew Skelhorn, Jamie Corneal, Kevin Scriver, Dani Brown, Smashley, Joey G, Travis Mooney, LS on the mic, guest judges Will J, Mike P, and Tim, insert your name here, out to enjoy the sunshine. Highlight might have been the post contest best trick sessions on the mini qp/box and the logjam. D Brown was learning handplants all day and she won girls. As for guys, someone won someone lost, it was either Craig or Greg,

Top of the World Step Down

The weather went something like this: Rain, Snow, threat of sunshine, rain, snow, rain, snow, threat of sunshine. This scenario played out until dark, when the weather changed to snow or no snow. The Mont Cascade park crew did a great job with keeping the landing stompable and the Top crew did a great job organizing another fun event.

Results played out as follows: Winners: 1. Andrew Skelhorn 2. Tyrell McEllwiney 3. Joel Dumond 4. Jordan Gibson Fraser 5. David Gauvreau Best trick: Tyrell McEllwiney
Brad Hesson also had some huge back 1's but couldn't get the stomp down.

A journey of epic proportions...not really but a journey none the less

CAPiTAlize at the Clocktower

Normally, I'm never around to see this event happen. I'm usually in town for a couple clinics and see the set-up during the day but then have to leave for some clinic on the otherside of the province. So this was a first for me. Craig from Half Cab productions puts on a great event with the highlight being: the set up? Nope, buts it good. The calibre of riding? Nope,but the bars set high early on. The crowd that shows up? Nope, but their a fun bunch. Its the fact that the comp is held in the parking lot of the Clocktower Brew Pub, so easy pints all night long. March in April

Kontakt films just released the March edition of their 6months2live "webisodic journey". The highlight has to be the footy from the Tropical North Downlow comp at MSLM. Easily one of the best contests of the year, for riders and spectators. It's almost like contests of old and I'll leave it at that. With that said Union/Capita's Andrew Skelhorn made the trek back from Whistler to film and partake. Union's Jamie Corneal has been having the winter of his life!!! Ask him where he's been! And Andrew Rusk has a few shots as well.
