Behind The Rings
This Olympic update just in:
"About the Halfpipe craziness... I hope you all watched it on TV. What you didn't get to see on TV unfortunately was the Dustin Craven show. He missed the Canadian team by 1 spot and was the first alternate. He didn't get to compete, but he was allowed to ride the pipe on the days leading up to the contest and then was an official fore-runner for the Olympic Finals on Wednesday night.
It was Craven style. Ceasars and smokes. Big, huge crowd pleasing straight airs, Roast Beefs and Stalefishes, and then did a run with 5 hand plants in a row.
Meanwhile... since the Canadian team were neither contenders or representatives of Canadian professional snowboarding - with two of the three riders not qualifying and the one that did riding without a chance for a medal.... Canadian fans were not stoked and there were lots of Dustin Craven supporters in the stands. Most visibly, 2 x Olympic Silver medallist Danny Kass and the whole Grenade crew holding signs and handing out bumper stickers that said, "Let Craven Ride."

Just got an email about this from Blue then I get this from Brad Gauley
"....Craven qualified for finals tomorrow he's actually standing 4th overall right now its pretty hilarious considering he's done straight air runs the whole time we have been here then drops in and threw down, the crazy shit went down too shawn white qualified 1st with a 49.5 out of 50 today with back to back double cork 10's and louie vito qualified second with an amazing run that also had back to back doubles.... "
If he gets top 5 tomorrow apparently he's got a spot. Mental high fives all day long for Dustin
