Worst Case Scenario

Disclaimer: everyday is a day to go snowboarding and does not require any type of official designation.

Am I hating on World Snowboarding Day? No, not at all. But as stated above snowboarding shouldn't and isn't relegated to one day. Its something most of us try and do every chance we get and most have ditched work, school, people or whatever to go riding. There's just something about snowboarding. Best case scenario, the press and promo around World Snowboarding day reaches someone that never even thought about going snowboarding and they become as infected as you and I. Worst case scenario, it gives you an excuse to ditch work, school, people or whatever to get on snow.

Our friends at Horseshoe were holding some festivities so the choice of where to go was pretty easy. And since it was world snowboarding day and not world stand in tents day, everyone ended up riding, so half- hearted apologies to anyone who dropped by the empty tent. All photos by Connor Dudgeon.

Smolik Says Sunday

This is going to be fun.

Like a game of Simon says, Smolik will be calling out tricks to the competitors from basic to tech, only successfull completion (in 2 tries) will move you on to the next trick.

The course will be a down press box and the infamous jail bar rail.

Helmets mandatory

1st place= $250
2nd place =$100
3rd place = $50

Best Trick = $100

Number 2

Horseshoe Valley is one of the few local resorts that get it! And by getting it, I mean actually doing something progressive with their parks as opposed to just turning the lights on and hoping people show up to buy tickets. Take for example, letting the team design signature features. Nice work Matt!!!

Emails

Yesterday was the day. Actually, yesterday and today are the days. Ummm on second thought tomorrow is probably going to be the day as well. It started snowing in Southern Ontario Saturday night and the result was a mellow 20 cm. But it then continued to snow all day Sunday and Monday with a little more accumulation. Push's Matt Houghton told me Blue Mtn was incredible. I got a text early Sunday morning from Alcatraz's Jay King claiming legitimate pow turns at Dagmar and Mark Watson from Kahuna showed up at my house today spraying about how good Horseshoe was (which was later confirmed by Chris Savage at Corbetts). Watson then proceed to borrow a 162 Black Death and poach the remaing pow at Lakeridge. All and all, everyone seemed to get some. This is what I did:

Oh and upload this email I was sent about Dustin Craven

Missing teeth, hot babes, big methods, and extra spending money.
