Kicked off the
start of the "demo" season with the first stop of the All Aboard Tour at
Edelweiss just outside of Ottawa. Scott and Graham from Sanction, Matt
from DWD and myself tripped down together. Matt regailed us with tales
of his diet Pepsi addiction and the highs and lows of aspartame
poisoning. Self proclaimed demo crew chief Brodey Wolfe, Stu Reid and
photog Max Wharin met us first thing Saturday morning after a long drive
from Collingwood which involved no 400 series highways and a brief stop
at Parliament Hill for some RCMP recruitment. The Top Of the World crew
along with the legendary Max, Ron Tremblay, Cam Hill and Joey Boner all
showed up for the Edelweiss opener.
The demo?
It was FKN awesome! Lots of screw turning with non-stop requests for
Ultra Fears, DOA's, Totally FKs, Spring Breaks and Unions going out on
boards from every company. Needless to say for future dates get there
early or be prepared to wait.
And the reason
were all here, the white ribbon! Edelweiss is a super fun hill and even
though it was a one run show, there were plenty of rollers, side hits,
snow whales and a mellow park to get rad on.
The
ride home was pretty uneventful with multiple stops to feed Matts Diet
Pepsi addictions all to the sounds of the Leafs kicking the Canucks ass!
