Yet another post about Michael Jackson

Yeah right....

Anyhow, got this email from Matt Bujok and Bradley Hesson today, lets just call it mind blowing enthusiasm.

Hey Rob,
Here is an update:

The other day I got a text from Bradley Hesson asking me if I wanted to come over and jib. You see Bradley and his woodworking skilled brother built a summer snowboarding setup in their small backyard. I agreed and drove over. Upon walking into the backyard, I saw this well built tower drop in and down rail. Everything was covered in turf as well as plenty of water and soap. It takes alot of getting used to dropping in on turf with edging and what not, but once you figure that out it's a blast! Bradley showed me some things he learned and let me say... look out for him this coming season! Anyways after his cd player started remixing his already remixed cds we decided to call it a session and take the go-cart for a couple laps.
Overall, FUN times!

GSD

It just so happens that the guys at Switch decided to host a BBQ at the Pickering skatepark on Sunday, June 21st which oddly enough happened to be Go Skateboarding Day as well. Millions of hot dogs bbq'd by Beaver, first hot day of summer, and I do mean hot, skating duh and free stuff. A couple of photos below and of course you can see the rest here

These peeps were there before we even put up banners and lasted till the very end.

In the midst of it all I popped down to Polson pier to check out a mellow mini ramp contest that the TLG crew was puttin on. And to have a drink or two on the pat yo.

Switch Go Skateboarding Day 905

A few years back, lets just say the mid-90's for arguments sake, I remember working at a now defunct shop in Pickering and having numerous conversations about the new park that was supposed to be built behind the Pickering Rec Complex. Sure there's a skate park in every town these days but this was long before that and this was one of the few outdoor parks even proposed. A lot of people contributed, like local legend Donnie Cameron. So it was more than disappointing to learn the park had been "condensed" from the initial drawings with most obtacles being downsized. Maybe its time to get the ball rolling with a new park in Pickering thats more up to date. I'll leave that with you, but remember nothing gets the point across more than hundreds of people skating the park, enjoying free food and random high fives. Join us for the Switch Go Skateboarding Day at the Pickering Park. More details

Go Skateboarding Day June 21st 416

To be quite honest there are another 364 days of the year that are go skateboarding days as well. Cynicism aside, if your in the 416 check here for details Yeah thats right a BBQ challenge plus TLG on the mic.

Willie Nelson Sang a song about it....

Been loggin some hours on the road over the last few weeks showing holiday Osiris, shuffling my ipod and talking to good people. Stopped by Urban Alley in the Hammer yesterday and hung out with Snoop a loop and Tupac.

Ontario Tax In Montreal

A little over week ago I moved my brother Mikey from Toronto to Halifax. Mushy lake waves for ocean swell, crashing auto sector job for "green" job. All in all a good trade off.

The plan was for Beaver and I to drive the U-Haul and Mikey to draft the entire way in the jet.

We switched it up a bit in Quebexico with Mikey and Beaver drafting and me solo in the U-haul. Needless to say we were less than stoked when a bandito errr cop pulled us over just outside of tijuan...I mean Montreal.

Apparently, crossing a solid line to not miss an exit is an offence rewarded by a $274 fine along with 3 points or so the speech went. In the end we paid $50 each (yeah Mikey got the same ticket since he was following me, fish n a barrel for the cop), no points and chalked it all up to driving in Quebec with Ontario plates!!!

Finally Halifax.....
